About ASPIRE Framework

ASPIRE Framework (Adoption Separation Psychological Impact & Resilience Evaluation) is a structured, adoption-informed framework for understanding and evaluating the enduring psychological impact of preverbal separation from mother and subsequent adoption-related experiences across the lifespan. It integrates psychological theory, trauma-informed practice, lived experience and emerging research.
PISA Instrument Development
The Preverbal Infant Separation Assessment (PISA) is an assessment instrument being developed within the ASPIRE Framework to examine the psychological impact of adoption separation across the lifespan. Following initial development and adoptee review, ASIP is progressing through staged review and future psychometric validation.
PISA within the Framework
PISA sits within the broader ASPIRE Framework, providing a structured means of examining patterns of psychological impact associated with adoption separation and subsequent adoption-related experiences. Its development remains distinct from the broader educational and research functions of ASPIRE.
